Thinking of Cremation?

Thinking of Cremation? Questions You Should Ask.

Values Cremation from Prasser-Kleczka is proud of our on-site cremation center, adjacent to our Bay View Chapel.

Many funeral homes tout the fact that they have an on-site crematory, which is important. What is even more important, though, is the standard to which they hold that crematory. Others count on you to assume your loved one is being cremated in a dignified and secure facility. But the reality is, most cremations through other funeral homes and discount cremation providers take place in a garage or industrial-type building.

Always striving for excellence, we wanted to do something different and give our families the best. Our profession-leading process has been developed with the security, dignity and tranquility of the families we serve in mind. We truly believe that Values Cremation leaves no room for error and is the most thorough crematory in Southeastern Wisconsin.

When considering cremation for your loved one, we'd recommend starting with the following questions as you decide on a provider.

At Prasser-Kleczka, we welcome inspection and strongly encourage comparison.

  1. Does the provider own their own crematory or do they outsource?
  2. Is the cremation provider a shadow company of an existing funeral home? (A shadow company of an existing funeral home uses the same staff, equipment and facilities as the legacy funeral home, under a different name to mislead consumers)
  3. Does a licensed funeral director perform the cremation and is the crematory open to inspection?
  4. How is your loved one cared for after their passing? Do two staff members perform the initial transfer or is one person sent?
  5. Is State of Wisconsin required care performed to the deceased or are they just left in a body bag?
  6. Is positive identification required by the cremation provider and can they articulate steps taken to assure families they are receiving their loved ones cremated remains?
