Born to Eternal Life on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at the age of 94. Beloved husband of 63 years to the late Ruthann (nee Tumidajewicz) Szmidt. Loving dad of Linda Szmidt, Cynthia Szmidt, Kathryn Szmidt and Mark (Erica) Szmidt. Cherished grandpa of Jaclyn Bonk, Jonathan Bonk, Nathan and Zachary Szmidt. Great grandpa of Oliver. Dear brother of Stan Szmidt. Preceded in death by his parents, Jozef and Maria Szmidt; sisters Helen, Josephine and Antonia. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Zygmunt and his late wife Ruthann, belonged to the Polonia Soccer Club in Franklin for over 60 years. Ziggy served his country as a member of the United States Army. He retired from Maynard Steel after almost 40 years of service.
