Obituary

Entered into eternal life on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at the age of 68 after battling pancreatic cancer and cirrhosis. Beloved husband to Susan (nee LaConte) Stoecker for 46 wonderful years after meeting in the 8 th grade and dating for many years. Son of the late William R. and Audrey (nee Riccelli) Stoecker. Brother to Deborah (late Richard) Bock, Catherine Stoecker, the late Thomas Stoecker, Kenneth (Gail) Stoecker, and the late Anthony (Susan) Stoecker. The best dad to Andrew Stoecker (Kristyn Maletta) and Sarah (Tony) Bublitz. Proud Papa to Olivia, Tahlia, and Billie. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, good neighbors and friends, including his dearest family friend Rosann Stoecker.

Bill spent his life working hard, and enjoying his time doing things he loved. His first job was a weekly paperboy, and he later found his career at Aurora Health Care, previously Medical Surgical Clinic, where he worked in various roles for 34 years before retiring. Bill loved spending time cooking and grilling; his lasagna is truly the best. He catered many events for the Boy Scouts, church, family, and friends. He loved it when people enjoyed his cooking. His lawn was impeccably maintained, and cutting the grass was a joy for him. Bill was often found relaxing in the afternoon on his patio, tending to the garden, soaking up the sun, and blowing bubbles with his grandkids. When he wasn't outside, he would sit in his living room chair, work on a word search puzzle, and read a good book. He spent time volunteering at his church, St. Charles Borromeo, and at the Franklin Public Library, where his daughter Sarah works, and discovered many new books to read.

Bill was caring, funny, smart, meticulous, observant, introspective, loved being around people, and was curious about the world around him. He had a generous spirit, was known for his witty remarks, and cherished his family most of all. He will be greatly missed by his loved ones and all who knew him.

A special thanks to AccentCare Hospice for their compassionate care in his final weeks.
