"The Mayor of Bay View" Found peace on Tuesday, April 14, 2015, 69 years. Bill is survived by his loving wife, Janice M. Doyle (nee Zielinski) of 47 years; his daughter Rebecca J. (Darrick) Dysland; two beautiful grandchildren, Benjamin Robin Dysland and Jack Parker Dysland; his devoted friend, Ada Duffey; his dog, "Buddy-the-girl-dog"; his sister-in-law, Joyce Britt; brother-in-law, Alan Campbell; niece, Susan Campbell and nephew John Campbell. Preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Florence Doyle and his sister Kathleen Campbell. Also survived by other relatives and many dear friends.
Bill was a U.S. Army veteran and a retiree of the U.S. Postal Service. A life-long resident of Bay View, a dedicated investor/developer and community advocate for over 50 years. His passion for the Bay View area was unparalleled, he coined the slogan, "Bay View, Milwaukee's Other/BETTER East Side", and took great pride in his life's work. In December of 2014, the Milwaukee Common Council awarded Bill with the first Lifetime Achievement Award for his work in the Bay View Community. Bill was also the founder and former owner of Milwaukee Asbestos Information Center and numerous other businesses. Bill, his wife Janice and many other business partners laid the foundation for the Bay View Renaissance. Visitation at the Funeral Home on Sunday, April 19, 2015, 4:00-7:00 PM., Eulogy Service at 7:00 PM. Funeral on Monday, 9:15 AM from the Funeral Home to THE CHURCH OF THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Blood Center of Wisconsin, the Bay View Historical Society or the Autism Society of Southeastern Wisconsin are appreciated.
