Early in the evening on Friday, December 5, 2014, after nearly 96 years of grace on earth, the LORD Jesus called Will Evers home to be with Him in heaven forever. The fragrance of the fruits of faith in Jesus his Savior that the Holy Spirit produced in his life have spread far and wide. His life was dedicated to the glory of His Savior, Jesus Christ. Since Will and his dear wife, Gertrude (nee Radtke, who preceded him to be with the LORD in 1995), were never blessed with children of their own, the LORD led them to discover a way to have a large number of children whom they loved and for whom they cared. Besides kindness to their nieces and nephews, Will and Gert made it their special work of love for Christ to care for countless other children by generously supporting Christian schools, most especially Saint Lucas Lutheran School in Bay View, Wisconsin Lutheran High School, and Wisconsin Lutheran College.
Will was a respected community leader. His lifetime place of work was the former Bay View State Bank where, starting already in high school, he worked his way up through the ranks to eventually become president. He took time out to serve his country as a soldier in World War II and the Korean War. Will enjoyed his longtime membership and friendship with the members at Tuckaway Country Club. He was also a respected and loved member of Saint Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bay View. His love for worshiping the LORD and his example of serving Him faithfully will remain an inspiration to that family in Christ as well as to the many organizations that he gladly and generously supported.
Will is survived by nieces and nephews, family, and friends. He was preceded in death by his dear wife, Gertrude (Radtke), his sister, Lorraine (Jenrich) and Gertrude's family: Ruth (Dummer), Robert Radtke, their spouses, and nephew Dick Howmiller. "'Blessed are the dead who die in the LORD from now on.' 'Yes.' says the Spirit, 'they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them.'" (Revelation 14:13)
