Age 77, of Whitefish Bay, Nov. 17, 2007. Much loved husband of Nancy and loving father of Carol Ann, and the late Beth Ellen and Lisa Mary. Dear brother to Ken (Sue), Donna (Jack) and the late Elaine. Further survived by cousin Candise Graff, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A Memorial Service celebrating Walter's life will be held on Saturday, December 1 at 2:00pm at VILLAGE CHURCH, 130 East Juneau Avenue in downtown Milwaukee, followed by a reception at the church. An "Ad Man", Walter was an award winning writer and creative tour de force for more than 30 years with a variety of Milwaukee advertising agencies. He got his basic training in journalism and advertising at the University of Wisconsin then began his career at the historic and legendary Klau-Van Pietersom-Dunlap. His extensive writing experience in both industrial and consumer fields allowed him to display his talent in all media and all types of collateral materials, including scripting radio and television commercials and business films for a diverse range of clients including ground breaking creative for the health care industry. Walter loved words. In his retirement, he lent his love of words to voiceovers. Most notably he was the voice of the "Guardian's of Data" campaign for Norlight Communications and was featured on a "Who's Walter?" segment of the Greenhouse with Jonathan Green. Walter enjoyed traveling; among his favorite places to visit were Door County and London, England. He was never happier than when he had a trip to plan. A retrospective of Walter's work in advertising along with family memories and photos will be on display in the lobby gallery of Village Church before and after the memorial service.
