Schmidt, Walter A. Arrived home on Friday, November 14, 2014, age 96 years. Loving husband for 61 years of the late Marion (nee Gitzel) Schmidt, whom he met at the St. Lucas Senior Young People. Beloved dad of Russell (Nancy) Schmidt and Carolyn (David Jr.) Fons. Proud grandpa of Jonathan (Carrie) Brown Schmidt, Melissa (Jason) Luebke, Andrew (Mara) Schmidt, Emily (Paul LaRosa) Fons-LaRosa, Elisabeth (Adam) Biggs, and Claire Fons. Dear brother of Albert, John, Diane, Hilton, Marvin, William, the late Erma, and the late Orma. Also survived by seven great-grandchildren other family and friends. Walter was a longtime member of St. Lucas Ev. Lutheran Church. He reflected his faith by being active in many church activities, including: being a Past Congregation President, serving on many church committees, attending Wednesday morning bible class and Special Service. He was also a retiree of GE Medical Systems. Visitation Wednesday, November 19, 9:00-11:00 AM at ST.LUCAS EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2605 So. Kinnickinnic Ave. Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Interment to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the St. Lucas Roth Outreach Fund or to the Central African Medical Mission.
