Walter C. Prodoehl
Born on May 30th, 1929 in Milwaukee and passed away peacefully at the age of 96 years on Wednesday, January 7th, 2026. Walter is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Mary Prodoehl, sister Joan Kaczkowski (Erdmann), brother Joseph F. Prodoehl, and his wife Harriet C. Prodoehl (nee Polinski). He is survived by his beloved wife Donna Mae (nee Kellner). Loving children Walter R. Prodoehl, Mark Prodoehl, Jeffrey (Susan) Prodoehl, Steven Prodoehl, Philip (Roberta) Prodoehl, and Mary (Gary) Jung. Dear grandfather of Kristy, Genevieve, Kenneth, Dennis, Allen, Michael, Nicholas, Melissa, Andrea, Philip, and Robert. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.
Walter graduated from Bay View High School and was a member of the Civil Air Patrol during his time in school, which led to him joining the Army Air Corps soon after graduation. As a member of Civil Air Patrol, Walter owned his own plane and flew around the Midwest. He spent four years in the service, being stationed in Minneapolis, Salt Lake City, and finally Milwaukee. Some of Walter's hobbies included building model airplanes, fishing, and hunting with his dad, brother, and dogs. He coached a Youth Center basketball team in Bay View and his son Mark's little league baseball team. His favorite sports teams were the Baltimore Colts and Milwaukee Braves. For Walter's working life, he started with the Milwaukee Sentinel Newspaper and worked his way up to being the Supervisor of multiple stations. He was also employed by Gateway Transportation for a number of years and worked at Bucyrus - Erie until he retired. Walter enjoyed outings and family picnics with his sister, brother, and their families.
There will be a Visitation held at the Funeral Home on Thursday, January 15th, 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon. Funeral Service will start at 12:00 Noon. Interment to follow at Arlington Park Cemetery.
