Wade Allan Gehrt passed away with his daughter and girlfriend by his side on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at the age of 57. Loving father of Lauren Gehrt. Cherished companion of Sherri Overmyer. Proud uncle of Don, Becky and Mandy and children. Former spouse and friend of Beth Bernhoft. Stepfather to Andrew and Bradley Baack. Preceded in death by his parents; Allan Gehrt and Cindy Tabbert and his sister Rene Gehrt. Further survived by other relatives and many friends.
Born on the 10th of February, 1964 and raised in Bay View, Wisconsin. He attended primary school at Clement Ave Grade School through the 6th grade, Fritche Junior High then completed high school at Bayview High School (1982). He worked at Crane Manufacturing as a young adult then Wade worked for 32 years at the Milwaukee Main Post Office as a Box Clerk.
Wade enjoyed activities of all kinds - with music at the top of the list. Music would play 24/7 at his house, and he always had a song for everything. As a child he enjoyed working on cars with his dad and continued his passion with his daughter. He loved taking photos, and videos of just about everything, and left behind an abundance of memories. You rarely saw him without a camera in his hand.
He was a girl scout troop leader for many years and was adored by all scouts for his fun character. Volunteered as a baseball coach and health room aide for his kids growing up.
Wade had a strong faith and put his trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. He attended and was confirmed at Unity Lutheran church on Oklahoma Ave as a child. As an adult he worshipped and attended Bethel Lutheran Church in Muskego, WI. He volunteered his time often to help with Vacation Bible School and enjoyed videoing church services.
