Virginia Theresa Cardenas
(nee Sampalski) Born November 18, 1932 and died in her sleep on January 24, 2026. She was married to Emery J. Cardenas for 61 years before cancer separated them. Together they had five children, Elaine (the late Edward Tombari Jr.), Emery II of Hawaii, Carlos (Karen) of Colorado, Renee Cardenas (Anthony Gundrum) of Rubicon and the late Dale Cardenas. She is also survived by her "Pseudo daughters", Lenore and Sandy. Proud Nana to nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Virginia came from a large family of seven brothers and five sisters, of which her younger sister, Diana Salmons and sister-in-law Dee Cardenas (nee Dehring) is the lone survivors, nieces, nephews and neighbors in her circle of life. Much thanks to Lynn Bontempo from Immaculate Conception Parish and all the wonderful staff of Aurora at Home Hospice, especially Larry, Jessica RN and Kaylee.
