Age 78 years. Passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, Jan. 29, 2004 surrounded by his family. Vince, a lifelong resident of Bay View was born on April 9, 1925 in Milwaukee. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Rosalia (nee Mattana) Russo. Beloved husband of 52 years to Dorothy (nee Fortune) Loving father of 6 daughters; Roxanne (Daryl Jones), Renee, Rochelle, Rhonda (Richard Lorenz), Rozlyn (Gary Wallace) and Rebecca (Joseph Valente). Devoted grandfather of Vince, Jared, Evan, Isabella and Shannon. Dear brother of Frances Swinsky and Mary Lindl. Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Special friend to Betty Van Ryen, Robert and Shockey Shoman, extended family and friends including special friends from Rail's Inn. Vince served his country in World War II, US Navy 1943-1946 on the USS Preston. He was awarded 3 Bronze Stars and 1 Silver Star. He was a dedicated member of the Teamsters Union for over 50 years. Retiree from Consolidated Freightways after 20 years and 2 million miles, enjoying driving part-time at Peterbilt after retirement. Visitation at the Funeral Home MON 4-7:30 PM.
