Tom entered God's Eternal Kingdom on April 3rd, 2021, age 79, reuniting with his wife Karen who preceded him. He is also preceded by his parents Edward and Josephina. Tom is survived by his Son Randy (Marisela), Grandchildren Randy (Edward), Nathan and Isabella, his Brother Bob (Karen), Cousin Jim (Rosie), other cousins, nephews and nieces.
Tom was a loving husband for over 50 years and dedicated caregiver to Karen in her twilight. He was an incomparable Father and real-life hero to his son Randy. He was always present, loving and supportive with his reserved, yet humor filled nature. Tom also shared a special bond with his daughter-in-law, Marisela. Little known fact: The guy could dance! He "Twisted" the night way with Mari at her Brother's wedding. Tom was also a proud Grandpa to Randy (Edward), Nathan and Isabella and enjoyed watching them grow.
In his teens, Tom discovered a passion for auto mechanics. While still in High School, he landed his first job at Chmielewski Brother's Station where he ultimately worked for 50 years. He was gratefully included as "part of the family" and carved many lasting friendships during his career. Tom cherished time with family and friends, was modest and lived enjoying life unburdened by challenges. He was a realist, saying "you can't satisfy everyone!" He had a colorful spirit, amazing sense of humor and endless stories. The best of them filled with his "special" embellishments. Anyone fortunate to know Tom, recalls the twinkle in his smile. When not working, Tom had many interests and hobbies. He enjoyed travel, fishing, hunting, gardening, his dogs, football, NASCAR, SYFY movies, concerts with his son Randy and Gin Martini's on-the-rocks (olive not negotiable). Tom also shared a close friendship with his neighbors of many years.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate Memorials to
Horizon Home Care and Hospice Grief Resource Center
in Tom's name. Tom was clear in conviction; others should not suffer grief alone. Tom's family extends many thanks to Franciscan Villa and for the unparalleled care provided by the staff at the Lawlis Hospice.
