Thomas and Christine started their life together right out of high school focused on building a loving family. They shared a love of children, working together to run a much loved home daycare. They shared other passions such as sailing, old home restoration, art collecting, traveling, gardening, cooking, and fishing.
Thomas was a 27 year veteran of the Milwaukee Fire Department where he served as a Heavy Equipment Operator (HEO). During his long and successful career he skillfully drove ambulances, engines, trucks, piloted the fire boat, as well as being a member of both the Deep Tunnel and Dive Rescue teams. Additionally, Thomas was a proud, active member of the Milwaukee Professional Firefighters Association Local 215 and the St. George League. He loved his career caring for the citizens of Milwaukee and spoke of his time in the department with all who would listen; his service was a very proud part of his life.
After the loss of his wife, Thomas was fortunate to find a loving companion in Kathy Roehl. Together they enjoyed running her much loved family restaurant, Klemme's Wagon Wheel of Howards Grove. He enjoyed this new chapter in his life and the opportunity to make new friendships and expand his family by taking on the role of Papa Tom to Kathy's grandchildren.
Throughout all chapters of his life, above all, he loved his family and friends. He will be dearly missed by all that had the fortune of spending time with him over the years.
