Of Milwaukee, Wisconsin passed away surrounded by his loving family on June 28, 2018 at St. Lukes Hospital. Thomas was born on September 29, 1936 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Irene and Frederick Gibbs. Thomas is survived by the only woman he ever loved Marilynne Gibbs and their beloved children: William (Cheri) Gibbs, Dorothy Dodie Gibbs, Tammy Ward, Cheryl Gibbs and Tracy Wagman; 8 wonderful grandchildren: Grant and Austin Gibbs, Erik and Rebecca Ward, Daniel and Joshua Gibbs, Adam and Sarah Wagman; 7 adoring great-grandchildren: Adrienne, Adriana, Jeremiah, Edward, Mariah, Micah and Lydia. Dear brother of Rosemary Specker, John Gibbs and Michael Gibbs. Thomas is preceded in death by his brother Richard Gibbs and sisters Mary Jane Reilly, Kathleen Klosiewski, Carol Jenks, Alice Burrow and Marilyn Kujawski. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.
Thomas was proud to serve as a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps as a military policeman. He worked at Milwaukee Forge for 30 years. He learned how to play the guitar by ear and performed in a band for several years. Thomas appreciated spending time with family and his cat Hannah. He was a Bay View resident his entire life and was a member of the Bay View Neighborhood Association. He enjoyed Chill On The Hill concerts at Humboldt Park, the South Shore Water Frolics and many parades. Thomas was avid with cross word puzzles, solitaire, cribbage, billiards and bowling. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and watching the Turner Classic Movie channel. Visitation at the Funeral Home FRIDAY, July 6, 2018 from 9:30-10:30 AM. Funeral Services at 10:30 AM. Interment and Military Honors to follow at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
