James, Susan Felice (nee Schrank) of St. Augustine, FL, peacefully entered Eternal Life on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at the age of 75. She was born in Milwaukee, WI on February 7, 1948, and was the beloved daughter of the late Raymond and Eveline Schrank (nee Pachowitz). Susan is survived by her devoted husband and lifelong friend of 49 years, Rickey James, her loving daughter, Rebecca (Adam) Drake, and her cherished grandchildren, Victoria, Ferris, Cameron, and Sawyer Drake. She is also survived by her

dear brother, Dennis (Rene) Schrank, as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Susan touched the lives of many through her 30 years of service with the Milwaukee Public School System and her unwavering commitment to education. Her warmth, kindness, and passion for learning will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Traveling, particularly to historic sites, brought Susan immense joy. She had a special love for Australia, where she and Rick embarked on a transformative adventure, creating unforgettable memories together. Alongside her passion for history and travel, Susan found solace in the simplicity of a great book and the art of baking. As an active member of the Book Crossing Club, she fostered a love for literature and embraced the power of the written word. She also had a keen interest in genealogy, always looking for opportunities to delve into her family's history and ancestral roots.

Susan's compassionate spirit extended to her involvement with K9s For Warriors, where she dedicated her time as a volunteer. She recognized the profound impact service dogs had on the lives of veterans and held a deep appreciation for these remarkable animals.

Above all, she held a special place in her heart for her grandchildren. "Nana" cherished the moments together, creating lasting memories and imparting her wisdom. Her love, patience, and gentle nature made her a beloved figure in their lives and will continue to guide and inspire them.

A memorial gathering will be held on Sunday, July 9, 2023, from 2 - 4:00PM at Prasser-Kleczka Funeral Home at 3275 S. Howell Ave., Bay View, WI 53207. Service to follow at 4:00PM. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Sue's life.
