Sue M. Schmidt

Born into this life on November 9, 1937, to Marjorie and Clyde Mocco in Troy, Wisconsin, Sue M. Schmidt was born into Eternal Life on August 2, 2026, in Cudahy, Wisconsin, at the age of 88, surrounded by her loving family.

She was a devoted and loving mother to Pamela (Rock) Pelkey and Mary (Jeff) Pekar, who were the pride and joy of her life. A deeply cherished grandmother, she is survived by Samuel and Sara Pelkey, and John, Jenna, and Jake Pekar. She was the dear sister of the late Audrey Smolenski and sister-in-law of Robert Wills. Sue is further survived by nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Following the death of her father in WWII, Sue grew up in South Milwaukee with her mother and sister and graduated from South Milwaukee High School in 1955. She carried a strong work ethic throughout her life, beginning her career at Kohl's Food Store before retiring from the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD) after more than 20 years proudly supporting the Agri-Life division. In retirement, she embraced life's simple pleasures-especially shopping, which she affectionately called her favorite form of exercise. She also enjoyed trips to the casino, faithfully cheered on her beloved Milwaukee Brewers, and most of all treasured attending her grandchildren's sporting events, school activities, and special milestones. In the 1990s, she also shared ownership of the former Coachlite Lounge in Cudahy, creating many fond memories.

She will be lovingly remembered for the unwavering support she gave her family, always showing up whenever she was needed. Her home was kept immaculate, as she believed every season was spring cleaning season. She loved to bake, especially her chocolate birthday cake, which became a cherished tradition. She also never left the house without looking her best, often saying you never know who you might meet.

The family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association - Wisconsin Chapter in Sue's memory.

An extended thank you to the caregivers of Mitchell Suites of Cudahy and Moments Hospice and so much gratitude to Dr. Valerie Nelson of Ascension.

Private services will be held, with interment at White Oak Cemetery in Lafayette Township.
