IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Shirley Ann
Kurowski
March 13, 1937 – March 14, 2024
Born to Eternal Life on Thursday, March 14, 2024, the morning after her 87th birthday. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth, daughter Barbara (Tony) Pintarro, and companion John Maier. Loving mother of Michael (fiancée, Anna Ai) and Linda Kurowski. Cherished Nana/Grandma of Jack (fiancée, Jamie Wage) Kurowski, Ashley (Todd) Wollenberg, Emily Smith, and Charlie Ai and Haici Li. Delighted great grandmother of Jason Wollenberg. Shirley was preceded in death by her siblings Virginia Shore, Lorraine (the late John) Augustine, Ralph (the late Dolly) Muszynski, Patricia (the late Howard) Sobocinski, and Gilbert (Sheila) Muszynski, and sister-in-law Jean Kurowski. Adored aunt of Melvina (Mikey), Arthur (Elaina), and Cathy (Gordy), the late Lawrence, Annie (Jim), Craig, Chris (Kris), Jim (Kim), Mary, Nicole, and John. Dear great-aunt of Samaah and Kamaal, Max, Austin, Calvin, Hannah, Gabriel and Leo. And dearest friend of Tammi (John) Rybacki, who was like a daughter to her. Shirley is survived by many loving friends and family members.
Throughout her life, Shirley so enjoyed keeping busy. She grew up a farm girl, and truly loved hard work. She was happiest when getting things done - working on the farm, gardening, canning, sewing, cooking, crocheting - helping her family and friends in any way she could. She loved to teach people who wanted to learn how she did things, and she could grow anything! Later in life, she thoroughly enjoyed volunteering at her church, from opening the church, prepping the altar, serving as acolyte and Eucharistic minister, to cooking in the kitchen, and then making countless home baked goods to cover the lion's share of desserts for church events - often, filling her car with pan after pan! The people in her life knew they could always count on Shirley. Being useful was her happy place.
If desired, donations in Shirley's name may be made toward the family's wishes for a memorial item (item to be determined) for St Stephen's, or to the charity of one's choice.
