In Loving Memory of Shirley Ann Jock (née Kuban)

October 9, 1948 - July 5, 2026

With profound gratitude for a life beautifully lived, the family of Shirley Ann Jock announces her peaceful passing on July 5, 2026, at the age of 77. Her legacy of faith, love, sacrifice, and devotion to family will continue to inspire all who knew her.

Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on October 9, 1948, Shirley was the daughter of Doris Kuban and Roland Heun. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers and sisters, her niece Denise, and her precious granddaughter, baby Olive. She is survived by her children: Lisa Ristow, Bernie Jock Jr., Laura Fisher, Deanna Hughes, and Wesley Jock; her grandchildren, Cayman Fisher, Charlie Ristow, Cozmel Cavallo, Cassidy Hughes, Emma Hughes, Cade Jock, and Marley Jock; her first great-grandchild, Baby Fisher, expected this August; her sister, Judy Ebert; and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Shirley met the father of her children while attending South Milwaukee High School. She devoted her life to raising her family, often working multiple jobs to provide every opportunity for her children. Her tireless work was never for personal recognition, but always for those she loved.

She expressed that love through countless acts of devotion. She hand-sewed her daughters' First Communion dresses and formal gowns, taught herself algebra to help with homework, and faithfully attended school events, performances, concerts, and sporting competitions. Her presence assured her children they were deeply loved.

Adventurous and full of life, Shirley was just as likely to surprise her grandchildren with handstands as she was to help drag a deer from the woods after a hunt. As her family spread across the country, she traveled wherever she was needed, celebrating life's joys and standing beside those she loved through life's hardships.

Her grandchildren were among her greatest treasures. Even as her health declined, she found great joy in preparing for her first great-grandchild, lovingly making a baby blanket and framing the prayer she had faithfully prayed over her family for years.

In the final chapter of her life, Shirley continued putting others before herself. She wholeheartedly supported her grandson's dream of greater independence by creating and contributing generously to a fundraiser for his accessible van, reflecting the servant's heart that defined her life.

Shirley's greatest gift was not found in grand accomplishments, but in the quiet, faithful way she loved. Her family finds comfort in knowing she has heard the words, "Well done, good and faithful servant," and now rests in the presence of her Savior.
