Fischer, Sherman George Found peace Friday, May 4, 2007 age 78 years, after a courageous 1 ½ year battle with Leukemia. Much loved husband for 55 years of Irma (nee Waddell). Cherished dad of Bonnie (John) Dimond, Linda Everline, Debbie (Phil) Binder, Gerilynn and the late James Fischer. Much adored grandpa of Jon, Brian, Nicole, Forest, Adam, Josh, Jake, Laura and Peter. Fond brother of Gordon (Flo) Dettlaff. Further survived by other family and many dear friends. Visitation at the Funeral Home WED May 9th 4-8 PM. Sherman was a retiree of Patrick Cudahy after 37 years service, a US Army Veteran of WW II, an active member of Divine Mercy Parish and Holy Name Society for 50 plus years, a member of the Patrick Cudahy Retirees , Old Goats Club of South Milwaukee,Moose Lodge No. 49, Amvets Post No. 4, 1st Vice-Commander, State of Wisconsin Catholic War Veterans and was honored as 2007 Catholic War Veteran of the Year. Special thanks to Dr. William Shaffer, Dr. William Mattheaus, the staff at Oncology Alliance, Vitas Hospice Care, and the nurses at West Allis Memorial Hospital Out Patient Dept. for the wonderful care you gave.
