Beloved wife of Joel Schanning, married 61 years. Loving mother of Steven (Karen) Schanning and Katherine Schanning. Dear grandmother of Michael (Maddie) Schanning and Lisa (Ethan) Miller. Great-grandmother of Aaron Miller. Further survived by her brother Douglas (Lynn) Greenmeier, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and many other family and friends.

Sharla was an avid reader, and excellent cook, and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bay View and retired child-care worker at the South Shore YMCA.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 26, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at PRASSER-KLECZKA FUNERAL HOME, 3275 S. Howell Ave. Milwaukee, WI. Funeral service at 8:00 PM. Interment at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery 21731 Spring St. Union Grove, WI on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at 11:00 AM.
