Sanford "San" Catlin Countryman

Was born into eternal life on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at age 90 years. Beloved husband of Karen Countryman (nee Threlkeld). Dear father of Bradley (Colette) Countryman and Debra (Donald) Shutt. Fond step-father of Susan Hamilton, Gail (Randy) Czerwinski, and Brian (Mary) Bauerschmidt. Cherished brother of Thomas. Loving grandpa of Austin (Alice), Sarah, Natalie (Bryan), Brennan (Marti), Peter (Vera), Mary, Jimmy, Jeremy (Samantha), Matthew (Madison), Nicholas (Jordyn), Emily (Michael), Evan, and Ethan. Great-grandfather of 16 great-grandchildren.

San was a devoted member of Bay View American Legion Post 180. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. One of the greatest experiences he had was attending the Honor Flight to Washington D.C. with his grandson Peter in 2024. San enjoyed his time at Manor Pointe, making wonderful friends and being embraced by his community. He was a Masters swimmer, having won many medals throughout his athletic career. San made many lifelong friends and memories when spending his time at Pelican Lake in Minnesota, including enjoying time with his grandchildren. He LOVED the lake.

Visitation at the Funeral Home on Saturday, April 19, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Funeral Service starting at 2:00 PM. Interment at East Lawn Cemetery in Beloit. In lieu of flowers, donations in honor of San can be made to the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight.
