Olson, Sanford R.

Called to his heavenly home by our heavenly Father on January 10, 2023, at the age of 85. He was the beloved husband and best friend of his wife, Kathleen, for 65 years; loving father to Steve (Barbara), Michael (Laura) and Cheryl (Jim Wirtala); devoted grandfather of Rachel, Josh, Nick, Michele, Mike, Kayla, Caitlyn, Adam and Jennifer; great grandfather of James, Ruby, Annaleigh, Stetson and Bennett. Sandy was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Carmen Olson, and his brother, Jim Olson. Sandy is survived by his brother Ronald and sister Donna. Sandy proudly served his country as a member of the Air National Guard for 5 years. He was activated to the Berlin Wall in Germany for 6 months. Sandy built a beautiful home in Raymond, Wisconsin, where he and his wife raised their family and lived for 58 years. He was a lifelong member of the Wisconsin Synod Lutheran Church and served in many roles including president of the church council, Sunday school teacher, Pioneer youth group leader, and member of both the vocal and bell choirs. Sandy was a machine tool builder and traveled in the United States, as well as Austria and England, to install machinery. Both Sandy and Kathleen traveled throughout the United States and overseas. They both truly enjoyed their life together and the time spent with their family.

Sanford's family is hosting a Memorial Gathering on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at 10AM to 11AM at ST. PAUL'S LUTHERAN CHURCH, S66W14325 JANESVILLE RD, MUSKEGO, WI. Sandy's family will be available to greet family and friends. Memorial Service will immediately follow the gathering on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at 11AM at ST. PAUL'S LUTHERAN CHURCH, S66W14325 JANESVILLE RD, MUSKEGO, WI.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Paul's Lutheran Church are appreciated.

Sandy's family would like to extend special thanks to their family, friends and neighbors for their love, care and concern. They also extend heartfelt thanks to the caregivers at Tudor Oaks and Compassionate Care.
