IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sandra Ruth
Rainer
August 8, 1950 – November 9, 2024
Sandra R. "Sandy" Rainer
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sandra R. "Sandy" Rainer, a beloved mother, grandmother, soulmate, sister, and friend, who was born to Eternal Life on Saturday, November 9th. Her radiant smile and unwavering love for her family and friends will forever be cherished.
As a single mother, Sandy exemplified strength and resilience, instilling in her children the values of hard work and the ability to make the best out of any situation, no matter how tough.
She was a beacon of sunshine who lived life to the fullest.
After graduating from Cudahy High School in 1968 where she was captain of the pom-pom squad, she began her working career working at Bucyrus-Erie. While raising her children, Sandy began working as an administrative assistant at St. John's School in South Milwaukee and finished her career at Aurora Health Care. Retirement took her and Bob to the Villages, FL, where they spent their winters enjoying time with each other and with friends "bopping around town" and dancing in the Town Square.
Her most treasured days were the ones she spent with her grandchildren. Whether they were scrapbooking, baking, playing Sequence or going on outings to the Science Store or the Wisconsin State Fair, they loved their time with Grandma Sandy.
Sandy is survived by her children, Gina (Jason) Esch and John (Nicole) Teglia, and her grandchildren, Connor, Lauren, and Logan Esch, and Brayden Teglia, who were the light of her life. She also leaves behind her soulmate, fiancé Robert Tracy, and her beloved sister, Jackie (Tom) Otzelberger. Additionally, she is survived by her nephews, TJ (Alison) and Joseph (Michelle) Otzelberger, Bob's children, Matthew Tracy and Shana (Kristopher) Kyler, along with many dear friends, some dating back to her years at Cudahy High School.
She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Jill, and her parents, John ("Jack") and Ruth Rainer.
Though she is no longer with us, her spirit lives on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, and all who were fortunate enough to know her. We will miss her dearly, but we find comfort in knowing that her love and lessons will remain with us always.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Sandy's honor to Always B Smiling, an organization that benefits individuals with disabilities, including her grandson Connor.
