Sam Walter Bird

Died peacefully on Saturday, January 3rd, 2026, age 93 years with family at his side. Loving husband reunited with his wife of 48 years Phyllis (nee Elmer). Preceded in death by beloved parents Walter and Mary (nee Unger), brother Ronald (Jacquelyn) and daughter Marva. Devoted father of Victor (Deborah) and Patrick (Christina). Dear grandfather of Meghan (Khalid) Kamara, Abigail (Matthew) Moyer, Mary, Phillip, Jessica (Thomas) Brennan, Amanda (David) Langan, Jacob Balistrieri (Rachel Calvert) and Sam Balistrieri. Survived by cherished sister, Betty (Darrell) Moschetz; a brother, Dr. James (Linda), eight great-grandchildren, other family and friends.

Visitation at the Funeral Home Friday, January 16, 2026 from 5-7 PM. Funeral Service at 7 PM. Private internment Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Sam was a retired teacher and coach of Milwaukee Public Schools including three decades at Bay View High School, his Alma mater. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Alzheimers Association are appreciated.
