Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at the age of 81 years. Beloved husband of the late Lucille Purpero. Dearest father of Catherine (Phil) Roszak, Susan (Mike) Oszuscik, Margaret (Tim) Kezman, Phillip (Suzanne) Purpero, Mary (John) Nordstrom, Christina Purpero (Glenn Michael). Treasured grandfather Grandpa Sam of Thomas (Cadie), Brian, Mathew, Laura Roszak; Michael (Kirsten Ysseldyke), Stacy Oszuscik; Steven (Krista) Kezman, Jennifer (Daniel) Mares; Salvatore, Alena, Andrew Purpero, Derek Kirby; Zachary, Madeline Nordstrom. Toy-bearing great grandfather of Carson, Reagan, and Reed Roszak. Loving brother of the late Phillip (the late Rosemary) Purpero, Anthony (Betty) Purpero, Caroline (Ray) Besasie, and Rose (the late Joseph) Spang. Uncle Sam to wonderful nieces and nephews and a special friend to many. Born and raised in Milwaukees Old Third Ward, Sam was blessed to have a multitude of lifelong friends he loved dearly from the old neighborhood. Together with many of these same friends, he gave of himself to two of his lifes passions, the Pompeii Mens Club and the Italian Community Center. He also considered himself blessed to share his work life with family at both C.W. Purpero, Inc. and King Juice Co. His work relationships were special to him and included countless friendships with customers, fellow contractors, suppliers, and employees who shared his care and concern for each other. His employees especially will miss his humor, stories, wisdom, integrity, and character. As busy as Sam was, family was number one. His time with Lucille and the kids were treasured the most. Dinner time at home every night, cook-outs with cousins, family vacations, and pasta on Sundays were Sams favorites. He is together again with his wife Lucille, the love of his life, whom he missed deeply these last three years. We will miss them both dearly. Visitation at the Funeral Home on Monday, October 16, 2017, 4:00-8:00 PM, Prayer Service at 7:30 PM. Visitation also on Tuesday, 9:00-10:00 AM at St. Alphonsus Church, 5960 W. Loomis Rd., Greendale. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM. Internment to follow at Arlington Park Cemetery. If desired, memorials to the Italian Community Center are appreciated.
