Born to eternal life on Sunday, January 7, 2017, age 85 years. Russell is survived by his loving wife, Rosemary (nee Paulson) Tessler of 56 years and his children, Timothy (Janet) Tessler, Michele (Mark) Lange, Joan Tessler, Susan (James) Mahoney, Daniel (David Demick) Tessler and Amy (Thomas) ODonoghue. Dear grandfather to Brian (Payton) Kaspr, Amanda (Matthew) Kachar, Steven (Julie) Kasprzyk, Nicole Schneider (fianc-Michael DeSarno), Kyle Mahoney, Megan Mahoney; Molly ODonoghue, Erin ODonoghue and Jonathan Lange. Fond brother of Barbara (Wayne) Kowalski and brother-in-law of Diane Paulson. Preceded in death by his parents, Albert Tessler and Hattie Tessler; a sister Louise Tarnowski and brothers-in-law Earl Tarnowski and Richard Paulson and a sister-in-law Patricia Paulson. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Russell worked at Northwestern Mutual for 40 years and coordinated blood drives there for over 20 years. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict as a chaplains Assistant. He was a rather quiet man, who worked hard for his family and put his family first. He was a proud direct descendent of parents who lived on Jones Island and attended the Kaszube picnics. His family would like to thank the staff of Aurora St. Lukes Medical Center and Aurora Zilber Family Hospice for their care and support.
