Obituary

DeNomie, Russell W. Born To Eternal Life on Friday, July 14, 2006, age 74 years. Beloved husband of Karin (nee Steimel). Dear dad of Michael (Julanne), Patrick (Joann), Kevin (Janet) and Daniel. Loving grandfather of Joshua, Tyler and Jordan. Great-grandfather of Aiden. Dear brother of Sharon Hamann, Ellen (Arthur) Quade and Lenell Koziatek. Preceded in death by his parents Orrin and Ramona , his first wife Mary Lee and his sister Ramona Pleau. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other family and many dear friends. Visitation at the Funeral Home FRI, July 21, 4-8 PM, Marine Corps League –Badger Detachment RITUAL at 7 PM. Visitation also SAT, July 22, 9:30-10:30 AM at Wisconsin Memorial Park-CHAPEL OF THE CHIMES, 13235 W. Capitol Dr., Funeral Service at 10:30 AM. Military honors and entombment to follow. Russell was a retired Detective with the Milwaukee Police Department and was seriously wounded in the line of duty, recovered and continued his career for 30 years. He proudly served his country with the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean Era, was a longtime, faithful member and Past Commandant of the Marine Corps League, Badger Detachment, Judge Advocate and Marine of the Year; Marine Corps League-State of Wisconsin, Judge Advocate and former Marine of the Year; Marine Corps League -National, POW-MIA Committeeman, Neville-Dunn Post No. 489 American Legion, Amvets Post No. 61, 1st and 3rd Marine Division Assoc. Life Member, Vietnam Veterans Chapter No. 1, Allied Veterans Council of Milwaukee Country-Past President, Boy Scouts of America, Police Athletic League, Old Time Baseball Players Assoc., Milwaukee Braves Historical Assoc., Milwaukee Police Department Historical Assoc., C.I.R.C.L.E., Emerald Society, Fraternal Order of Eagles Milwaukee Aerie 137 and Aerie 4214, State of Wisconsin and Great Lakes Region of which he was President, Past Trustee and received the State Eagles Hall of Fame award and Indian Summer Festivals Inc. where he was a charter member, board member and treasurer.
