Russel "Russ" W. Heisler
Went home to be with Jesus on Friday, March 7, 2025 with his loving family at his side. Russ was born in Racine, WI on September 22, 1945, the son of the late William and Mary Heisler (nee Eisenman).
Russ loved his country and proudly served with the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was wounded in action and was awarded the purple heart. He was united in marriage to Germaine Sherling on November 23, 1991. The two most important things in his life were faith and family. He had a special place in his heart for each of his grandchildren and great-granddaughter. We thank God for the wonderful blessing of his life.
He will be deeply missed by his loving wife Germaine, his children Kimberly (James) Woods and Paul (Trish) Weiland, step-children Sondra Steitz, Paul Steitz, Doug Crooker, and Ladd Crooker; Grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Also survived by siblings Marge Steinmetz, Laura (Steve) Johnson, Bill (Linda) Heisler. Also survived by other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Russ was a machinist/welder at Bosch for 30 years. Russ was passionate about reading his Bible, old cars, gardening, cooking and camping. If desired, memorial donations in Russel's honor can be made to Faith Baptist Church or Paralyzed Veterans of America.
The family has scheduled a Memorial Visitation on Friday, March 14, 2025 at Faith Baptist Church 8519 S. 13th St. Oak Creek, WI 53514 from 12:30 P.M. to 1:30 P.M. Memorial Service at 1:30 P.M. Private Interment at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
