Ronald E. Belair
Muskego - Was called to heaven on Monday, April 20, 2020. Ron is survived by his wife of 64 years, Grace, and four children, Peter (Karen), Philip (Sue), Julie and Kathleen (Tim) and his brother, Richard (Elaine). He followed God's calling of his other siblings: Raymond (Lorraine), Robert (Marguerite), Blanche Warkentin (Mel) and Marge (Lynx) Lindquist. Ron and Grace were blessed with nine grandchildren: Justin Belair, Madeline Rohde, Jacob (dec'd), Jeremy and Angela Alessi, Lauren (Brody) Rennan and Jessica Belair, Daniel (Stephanie) and Jon Belair; as well as four great grandchildren: Mason, Danny, and Wesley Belair and Zoe Rennan.
Ron was born April 10, 1932 in Chicago, IL to Angela (Nellie) (Gutzke) and Raymond Belair, Sr. In his youth he worked during the summers at Adams Cabins in Three Lakes, WI, where he met the love of his life, Grace. They married in 1956 and lived on the south side of Milwaukee County for 60+ years. He was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Martin of Tours Parish in Franklin.
Ron was in the Army during the Korean War and stationed at Fort Riley, KS. He participated in the Honor Flight to Washington DC. He was a longstanding member of American Legion Post 431 in Three Lakes and was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Ron worked as a Milwaukee County Firefighter at both the Institution Grounds and Mitchell Airport. He was a responder to the Midwest Flight #105 crash in 1985.
He and Grace retired to Three Lakes, WI for 16 wonderful years. He loved to fish with his family and friends and his love for the sport earned him the name "Muskie Ron". Even if the fish weren't biting it was always a good time fishing with Ron because of course, he was telling jokes!
There was always a smile shared, a lap to sit on, a hug given, an open door…and a Brewers game on. He leaves behind a family who adored him and friends who cherished him. Ron will truly be missed. May he rest in the embrace of Christ's everlasting love.
Private Services for the immediate family will take place on Tuesday, April 28, 2020 at St. Martin of Tours. THE MASS WILL BE STREAMED LIVE AT 11:30 AM.
