Roman Peter Kosinski was born on August 9, 1919 and completed his "Sentimental Journey" to heaven on Monday, July 17, 2006. Roman and his beloved wife Carole (nee Fregin) were together for over fifty years. He will be dearly missed by Carole and his loving children, Kathleen (Steven) Clark, Diane Bucher (Jim Gilboy), David (Linda) Kosinski and Deborah (Cary) Decker and his devoted grandchildren, Tracy Clark, Amy and Adam Bucher, Corbin and Collin Kosinski. He is further survived by Patrick Gilboy his brothers, Richard (Karen) and Elmer (Noriko) Kosinski, his sister, Evelyn (Robert) Sonnentag, his sister in law, Audrey (Randy) Norman and Gayle Kelly and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. Roman was preceded in death by his granddaughter Casey Kosinski, his parents, Anna (nee Drewa) and Peter Kosinski, his uncles, Louis (Helena) and Julius (Alice) Kosinski, his brothers, Edward (Helen) Kosins and Louis (Viola) Kosinski and his sisters, Lucille (Roman) Marshall, Alicia and Esther Kosinski. Roman was a four year veteran of World War II, and served as a member of the 269th Port Company in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre as well as a Squad Leader in the American Theatre. Roman was a life time member of the Charles Fidler Veterans of Foreign War Post #9469. He was a retiree of Harnischfeger Corp. (Now known as Joy Global, Inc.) Roman was an avid gardener and an expert fisherman for many years. He and Carole have been members of the Lutheran Chapel of the Cross for over 37 years. He was a loving and devoted family man and a devout Christian who lead by example in his unwavering faith in the goodness and salvation of Jesus Christ. He died peacefully at Ruth Hospice in West Allis. Many thanks to the staff who provided loving care during Roman's last days and kind support to this family. Please join us in a celebration of Roman's life at THE LUTHERAN CHAPEL OF THE CROSS located at 3353 S. Whitnall Ave. in Milwaukee on THURSDAY, JULY 20. Visitation will be from 4:30 p.m. until the time of service at 6 p.m. The family kindly requests memorials to the Lutheran Chapel of the Cross to honor Roman's many years of service as a dedicated member of the church.
