Rodney M. Janusz "Rod"

Rod passed away unexpectedly, yet peacefully, surrounded by his family on Tuesday, July 4th, 2023. Age 65 years. Loving dad of Valerie Janusz (Patrick Krueger) and Shannon Skrobiszewski. Cherished papa of Camren and Gabriel Halverson, Zayden Hayes and furbaby Gracie Krueger. Brother of Mary Janusz and Sandra Smith. Former spouse and dear friend of Renee Janusz. Further survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and lifelong friends. Preceded in death by his parents Edwin and Dolores Janusz and his favorite brother Dennis Janusz.

To know Rod was to know his firecracker personality. He was very stubborn, loyal, kind and goofy. He would have laughed, joked and saw it fit that he passed on the Fourth of July -- his favorite holiday.

One of Rod's biggest passions in life was racing sprint cars. He had the opportunity in his 40's to race at the Milwaukee Mile, Wilmot Raceway and Hales Corners Speedway. Rod loved to watch NASCAR and any type of sporting event. He was also well known for his cooking, particularly his stuffed green peppers and green bean casserole. Rod treasured the outdoors, was a talented artist and house painter, gardener, and enjoyed teaching people how to fix anything -- and had the patience to do it. He was a "Jack of all trades, master of none." He made sure you paid extra attention to detail when it came to cutting the grass and edging the sidewalk. Rod had a knack for tinkering with any type of motor possible. His daughter Valerie is proud to have learned how to garden because of him.

I love you dad and I will miss your tomatoes.

A Celebration of Life will be held closer to Rod's birthday at the end of September.
