He was born in Appleton, Wisconsin August 18, 1937. He was baptized September 5, 1937 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Kaukauna, WI and confirmed after professing his faith on March 18, 1951 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Menasha. The family moved to Milwaukee where he attended Lutheran High School, graduating in 1955. He joined the Armed Forces serving in the United States Air Force for four years. He was able to travel outside the country and spent some time in Japan during his service.
He was married to Patricia on December 16, 1961 in Milwaukee, WI where he lived and raised his family in the same home for over 60 years. His great hobby and passion was to collect, run and build train layouts for his N gauge trains. He was a member of the N Scale Model Railroad Club, a train club that met in Cudahy weekly, where he enjoyed spending time with both new and old friends. He also enjoyed canoe trips on the various rivers in the area. In later years he made weekly Saturday lunch dates with St. Lucas church friends at Benny's Cafe where they shared many laughs and good times.
Special thanks to staff at Anita's Gardens of Brookfield for providing him with loving care and to Brighton Hospice for making him comfortable and helping him adjust to his ever changing healthcare needs.
