Obituary

Robin L Olsen, a loving husband, father and grandfather, age 75 of South Milwaukee, Wisconsin passed away January 16, 2026 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Rob was born December 5, 1950 in Chicago, Illinois to Rowland Victor Olsen, and Virginia (nee Lapointe) Olsen.

He is survived by his wife, Theresa of 42 years, his children, Sherry (Brendan) Payne of Mount Prospect, IL, Catrina Jastrzab of San Diego, CA, Heidi (Gilbert) Rodriguez of Oak Creek, WI, and stepson, Karl (Judy) Guhl, and his grandchildren, Cassidy, Gavin, Casey, Cory, Brandon, Gilbert Jr, Ariana, Gabriel, Isabella, and Isaiah. Proceeded in death by his parents, Roland and Virginia, his brothers, Joey, Olsen, and Ronnie Olsen, his sister Carol, and stepson Kenneth Ghoul.

He grew up in Chicago with his siblings, Joey, Carole, Ronny, Randy and Mike. He graduated from Tuley High School in Chicago Illinois. In the early 1980s he moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin and married Theresa "Terri" (nee Koscielniak).

Rob was a print press operator at Patton printing (formerly Kwik Kopy) for just under 30 years until the business closed. He was a key employee as the only print press operator of the small family owned shop. He later took a position at Dynacare as a courier where he developed strong relationships with friends and coworkers and later retired. In an effort to keep busy and give back to the community, he took a job as a crossing guard for South Milwaukee. His primary post was 15th and Drexel. As a crossing guard, it brought him joy, keeping the kids safe and talking with them and their parents.

Of all the accomplishments he had, his greatest joy was being Papa. He loved spending time with his grandkids. They enjoyed going on hikes, having a camp out in the living room, eating midnight snacks, or just stopping to eat somewhere and sitting on his tailgate while they listened to silly songs. His favorite activity was to cheer on his grandkids during their activities or sports. The grandkids could always count on him for words of wisdom and unwavering love.

Memorial Visitation FRIDAY, January 30, 2026 at the Funeral Home, 6080 South 27th Street, Milwaukee, Wisconsin from 11 AM to 1 PM. Memorial Service at 1 PM.
