Loving grandfather of Julie (Jim) Zaja, Kelly (Charlie) Bellin, Jenny (Dan) Sturma, Laura (Ken) Webber, Tony Schmidt, Andy Schmidt, Angela Fields, Eric Lerch, Andrew Lerch, Barry Lubs, Tony Lubs and Jason Lubs. Preceded in death by his children, Nancy Helen Lubs and Jeffrey Paul Schmidt; parents, Karl and Leona Schmidt; sisters, Frances Granec and Leona Dolly Todd. Fond brother of Verona McLay. Dear friend of Deb and Mike Zmudzinski. Robert is missed and further survived by great-grandchildren, countless nieces, nephews, other family and many dear friends. Robert was a retiree of Ladish after 40 years of service and a member of the Blacksmiths Union. He also was a Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council #1709 in South Milwaukee. Robert was a United States World War II Navy veteran and sailed on the USS-Delta. He was also a member of the Catholic War Veterans Post 672, American Legion Post No. 27 and VFW Post No. 3742.
