Age 85, of Milwaukee Wisconsin passed away on October 17, 2013 as a result of complications from his Alzheimer's disease. He was born in Milwaukee on March 28, 1928 and grew up there. As a young man, he served in the United States Navy during World War II and was honorably discharged following the end of the war. Robert then attended the University of Wisconsin where he received his bachelor's degree in business and met his future wife, Yvonne. Together they started a family in Milwaukee and Robert began what would be a life career with Northwestern Mutual Life. In 1964 Robert moved the family to Lincoln Nebraska and went on to become a General Agent for Northwestern Mutual Life, being responsible for sales and operations for most of the state of Nebraska. He retired in 1983 and moved with Yvonne to Sun City West Arizona in 1989. Following Yvonne's death in 2012, Robert returned to Milwaukee to be closer to family. In retirement, he loved painting pictures, loved fishing, and loved rooting for the Green Bay Packers. He and Yvonne were members of the Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Sun City West Arizona. His entire life he was a loving and devoted husband and father. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Horatio and Meta Nowak, his wife of 60 years, Yvonne Nowak, and his brother John Nowak. He is survived by his three sons, Stephen (Maureen) of Ankeny Iowa, David (Margaret) of Lenexa Kansas, and Gregg of Milwaukee Wisconsin; four grandchildren, Mindy (Justin) Drake, Kristen Nowak, Liz Nowak and Matt Nowak: sister, Dorothy Klein: and nieces and nephews.
Visitation at the Funeral Home Monday, October 21, 2013, 2:004:00 PM. Funeral Services at 4:00 PM. Robert's final resting place will be with his wife Yvonne in Sun City West Arizona.
