On June 24, 2024 Robert ("Bob") Frank Martinez passed away peacefully in his sleep after a long battle with cancer.

Born in Milwaukee to Robert J. Martinez and Nancy Martinez (nee Tobin) (both deceased) on May 11, 1955. Beloved husband of Gail Martinez (nee Semonis). Loving father of Carrie (Keith) O'Donnell and Alena Martinez. Dearest "Papa" of Skyler (Sean), Kyleigh, Connor and Kennedy. Brother of Mark (Jeannie) Martinez. Brother in-law of Darrell (Cheryl) Semonis. Also survived by uncles, aunts, cousins, other family members and many, many friends.

As seniors at Bay View High School, Bob and Gail met in English class and started dating after graduation. He married Gail in 1974 and they were together for 50 years. Bob had worked at odd jobs until he was hired at WE Energies where he worked for 37 years. After retiring, he worked as a supervisor at UWM Heat Plant for 10 years.

As an avid sports fan, Bob loved to watch, play and coach whenever he could over the years. Music collector, mainly classic rock, that was always on when you found him tinkering in the garage. He also loved the outdoors and stargazing around a fire in the evenings and spending time in Door County.

If desired, memorials are appreciated to the American Cancer Society. In lieu of a funeral, we will be having a celebration of life at the Hilton Garden Inn Milwaukee Airport, 5890 S Howell Ave, Milwaukee, WI 53207, (414) 481-8280, on August 10 from 1-5 p.m.
