Obituary

Bob was born on December 21, 1936 to John and Susan Iglar. He grew up with his two brothers Richard (Mary) and Dennis (Maureen) on High Street in Carrollville, WI. Bob attended South Milwaukee High School, and then Marquette University where he graduated with a degree in Accounting. He began his career at Pete Marwick Mitchell & Co. During that time, he also served in the Army National Guard. While attending events at the Marquette University Alumni Club, he met his wonderful wife Mary (nee Kozina). They were married for 48 years, until her passing in 2009. In 1968, Bob left public accounting to join St. Michael Hospital as the financial controller. He stayed with Wheaton Franciscan health system for the remainder of his career, eventually becoming the Chief Financial Officer for the Milwaukee operations. He made many good friends over the years including several Sisters from the hospitals. Bob and Mary had four children, John (Shari) Iglar, Arlene Iglar, Susie (Tim) Sommers and Kathy (Mike) Ruzicka. Bob coached their sports teams and was the President of the St. Charles Athletic Association. He valued education and charity and strived to instill those same values in each of his children. Family vacations were a definite highlight, especially their ski trips out West. Bob and Mary also cruised with family and friends over the years, including friends from their Investment Club. The annual Canadian fishing trip was a highlight each year for Bob. He looked forward to spending a week each spring with his son, brothers, son-in-law, nephews, grandsons, and friends. Over the 40 years of these trips, many great memories and stories were made (or made up). Bob was Grandpa to 11 grandchildren: Paul (Emily) Iglar, Laura (Luke) Cutler, Sarah (Danny) Coppin; Nick, Meghan, and Mary Sommers; Vince, Max, Marla, Theo, and Paul Ruzicka. In January of this year Bob was blessed to welcome his first great-grandchild Violet Grace Iglar. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, amazing neighbors and other friends that enriched his life over the years. Bob had a clever sense of humor, he enjoyed listening to music, and singing. In recent years, one of his favorite things to do was karaoke "My Girl" with his granddaughters. Bob and Mary loved to dance, and were fun to watch as they jitterbugged. In fact, Bob sometimes referred to himself as "a peachy dancer", whatever that means. His favorite dinner was Mary's pork roast and sauerkraut preceded by a vodka on the rocks.
