Robert "Bob" D'Acquisto
of Franklin, Wisconsin (formerly of West Allis), passed away on May 4, 2026.
He is survived by his loving wife, Micki; his son, Chris, and daughter-in-law, Lisa, and their children, Sofia and Anthony; and his daughter, Susan, and son-in-law, Matt, and their children, Mia, William, Luke, and Elena. He is preceded in death by his infant son, Anthony. Bob was immensely proud of his entire family and adored his wife above all else.
Born and raised in West Allis, he served aboard The USS Bennington, a Naval aircraft carrier, where he developed a lifelong, ironclad refusal to touch water again. He first worked at Allis Chalmers as a draftsman and cartoonist. It was there that he spent years charming his future wife, Micki, the old-fashioned way: over fiercely competitive games of bar dice at local taverns and a string of carefully planned dates that eventually sealed the deal. Later he worked for over 30 years at Allen-Bradley Co. (Rockwell Automation).
Bob kept a yard so meticulously groomed that neighbors half-suspected a secret alliance with the local golf superintendent. An aspiring golfer, his swing possessed more enthusiasm than accuracy and he spent hours in the backyard with makeshift golf holes perfecting his short game. He approached every round with the same cheerful persistence he brought to life.
Bob always told jokes, never seeking the spotlight but excelling in those small, quiet moments that built real connections. He had a special talent for messing with the kids-most memorably with a stuffed lion he affectionately (and confusingly) called Bear. The grandkids never failed to dissolve into laughter at his antics. His true genius, however, lay in birthday cards. They were Dilbert-level masterpieces of dry wit that somehow managed to roast the recipient while still making them feel loved. He also taught his grandkids key essentials: how to ride a bike without training wheels through an obstacle course of random garage stuff he diligently maintained, how to find fairies that lived in the backyard tree and how to blast and enjoy The Highwayman to the annoyance of those in earshot.
With a wonderful sense of humor and a heart that never stopped rooting for his family, Bob leaves behind a legacy of perfectly edged lawns, perfectly timed punchlines, and the quiet conviction that some magic is worth believing in.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests your presence after the service for food and beverages to share your best golf story, lawn-care tip or off-color joke. Bob would have appreciated it all.
