Passed away suddenly Monday, April 25, 2011, age 64 years. Preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Ruth Schmidt and his sister, Kathleen Sato. Beloved husband of Joyce (nee Vanselow). Loving father of Stephen (Ann) Schmidt and Sarah (Dean) Schmidt. Caring step-father of Eric (Amy) Eide and Jennifer (Greg) Reed. Proud grandpa of Luke, Gabe, Emerson and Charlie. Honored brother-in-law of Janis (Arlyn) Fiene, Darlene (James) Habanek, Robert (Dawn) Vanselow and the late Randal Vanselow. He will be missed by many other special family members and friends. Dick retired from Cooper Power Systems and was a volunteer firefighter for many years with the Caledonia Fire Department. In lieu of flowers memorials to the Trinity Lutheran Church Sports Fund.
