Richard "Rick" Heil passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at the age of 63. He was reunited in eternal rest with his beloved parents, Richard "Dick" and Marcella "Marcy" Heil; his brother Marc Heil; his grandparents Raymond and Ann Heil, and Marcello (Pauline) and Lena Zanchetti; along with cherished aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Born in Milwaukee on August 21,1963, Rick's spirit was deeply woven into every street and sidewalk of Bay View. He lived life with a simple, genuine joy-whether riding his bike through the neighborhood, playing bocce with his teammates at the Italian Community Center, or enjoying a beer with friends. Above all, music was Rick's deep passion. An avid concertgoer, he was rarely seen without a soundtrack playing nearby. Especially enjoying music and friends at Club Garibaldi, the Cactus Club, and Patti's Power Plant, among others.
Rick took great pride in his work with the Milwaukee County Parks and his co-workers meant the world to him. His family will be forever grateful to his colleagues, who always looked out for Rick whenever the weather triggered his asthma. Rick also made fast friends with every dog he encountered, always carrying a pocketful of treats. He believed every single dog was special and brought joy to all.
Rick's memory will be forever cherished by his beloved sister, Lynn (Randy) Krenn; his cherished niece, Alissa (Cory) Kordprom; his loved great-nephews, Tyler and Logan Kordprom; as well as a broad circle of extended family and dear friends.
A Celebration of Rick's Life will be held on Monday, October 19, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Club Garibaldi in Bay View. Rick will be laid to rest alongside his parents and brother on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at 11:00 AM, at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
In honor of Rick's memory, contributions to the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin would be greatly valued, as the hospital held a special place in his heart.
