He was born on Jan. 20, 1933 in Milwaukee, WI, son of the late Harvey and Irma (nee Kroening) Bartelt. Richard was baptized into the Christian faith and confirmed at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church and was a longtime member of Lutheran Chapel of the Cross. Visitation at the Funeral Home SUN 3-6 PM. Richard worked as a Cable Splicing Foreman for the Wisconsin Electric Power Company retiring after 42 years of service. Upon retirement Richard and Eileen traveled extensively in their RV and embarked on their most fulfilling career of all, building churches as members of the Lutheran Organization, Laborers for Christ. When asked how many churches they had built Richard's only response was, "not enough".
