Found peace on Monday, November 12, 2018, age 87 years. Loving dad of Cheryl Peter and Barbara Babcock. Proud grandpa of Emily (Chris) Billick and Doyle Sunderland. Also survived by other family and friends. Richard was an accomplished gymnast as a child and won a state title for rings during high school. He loved science and math. He was also an avid runner, participating in several marathons from 1981-1995 including Grandmas Marathon in Duluth, MN and the San Diego Marathon. In his day he was an accomplished swing dancer with his daughter Barb for over 25 years. Richard was a proud U.S. Army veteran serving in Japan just after the Korean War. A sincere thank you to the Palliative care team at Zablocki VA Medical Center for their wonderful care for Richard. Memorial Gathering at the Funeral Home on Friday, November 16, 2018, 4:00-6:00 PM.
