Carl (Connie), Virginia (Ronald) Mortenson, Rev. Joel (Lorna), Philip (Beth), Rev. Peter (Tamara) and Rev. Daniel (Leah). Dear brother of Ruth Emerson. Further survived by 27 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family members and many dear friends. Visitation WEDNESDAY, September 5, 2012 from 4-7 PM at ST. LUCAS EV. Leyrer was ordained April 15, 1945 and began his ministry serving congregations in Big Bend and Zion, IL. He served as the Dean of Students at Northwestern College in Watertown, WI from 1959-1968. He then served at St. Lucas Church from 1968 until his retirement in 1989. He also served his church body, the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod, in a variety of capacitates and positions throughout his ministry. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Rev.
