Obituary

Died April 21, 2011 age 96 years. He is preceded in death by his wife Lorraine, and brothers John, George, Clem, Eugene "Murphy", Harry, Syl, and Chuck Werra. Dear father of Kathie Foti (Werra), and Robert Werra. Cherished grandfather of DeAnna Foti and Brennan Foti. Special Great-grandfather of Jake Pipke. Ray was an avid baseball player. He was scouted by the St. Louis Cardinals before being drafted for the war. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII, earning his Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon and CIB badge. When he returned from the war, he worked for the Heil Co. and played Semi-Pro Baseball for their company team. There he was voted All American Player for his exceptional batting avg. Ray also was inducted into the softball hall of fame at Milwaukee County Stadium and played on the "Old Timers League" for many years. Memorial Visitation at the Funeral Home Tuesday, April 26, 2011 from 5-8 PM. Prayer service at 7:30PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday 10:00 AM at THREE HOLY WOMEN PARISH ST. HEDWIG CHURCH, 1702 N. Humbolt Ave.. (Please meet at church at 9:50 AM) Interment and military honors to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
