Age 46, of West Allis, passed away at his home on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Randy was born in Milwaukee, WI, on January 13th, 1974. He spent most of his years residing on the south side of Milwaukee. Randy enjoyed sharing his time of the past twelve years with his life partner Joel. Cooking, watching movies, spending time with family and friends, and backyard BBQ's were just a few of the things they enjoyed doing together. Joel was a special part of Randy's life. Randy was employed for years with a few local grocer chains where he often stocked and worked in management. He also worked on home improvement projects. He had a love for animals and was the proud owner of a cat named Gizmo, and dog named Lady. Both of which have passed on. Randy loved plants and seemed to be able to grow something from nothing. He enjoyed spending time with his parents watching the Packers and Brewers. He often played cards and cribbage with his dad, and gardened and cooked at times with his mom. Every year before Christmas Randy would come over to his parents' house and help his mom put up the Christmas tree. This was a special time for both of them. Randy loved to listen to all types of music and was a great dancer. He loved a good cookout and his favorite food was grilled steak with a baked potato. Family get togethers were another favorite of his; especially celebrating the South Shore Water Frolics. It was our family tradition.
Randy attended his very first Bucks basketball game with his sister Peggy in January, 2020. His favorite moment was being able to go onto the floor at the end of the game and hold the microphone. He loved listening about all of the accomplishments of his nephews and niece. He loved them very much.
In Randy's younger years he spent a lot of time at Washington Park in West Allis. Together with his sister they would compete in chess tournaments (sometimes against each other), Field Day, and other park activities. He also enjoyed playing bumper pool and playing ring/bean bag toss. Randy enjoyed roller skating at the rink with his friends and sister as well. He loved art. He especially liked building things and would create the most amazing masterpieces from Lincoln Logs. Randy received his confirmation from God in his early teens and remained active in the church with his family for many years.
Randy was diagnosed with cancer one year ago. Through all of the tests, and treatments he remained as positive as he could, and he attended his appointment dates with a smile on his face, even though at times it was difficult. It saddened him to see his family hurting from the unknown. He was brave. Randy loved his family and friends and he will be missed dearly by many.
Preceding Randy in death are his grandparents Pearl and Lawrence Nordness, Bernadine Stroinski, Frank Gorski, Aunt Karen Stroinski, and Uncle Joseph Stroinski.
Randy is survived by his soul mate and best friend Joel Hauf. Beloved son of parents James and Eileen Nordness. Cherished and special brother of Peggy Nordness. Proud and loved Uncle of Joseph and Jonathon Brown, and Alexandria Watkins. Also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and many dear friends.
A Memorial Gathering will be held at the FUNERAL HOME on Saturday, December 19, 2020 from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM.
