A longtime marketing executive in the beer industry, died January 19 at his home in Milwaukee after a long illness. Born November 15, 1927 in Pawtucket RI, he was the son of the late Blanche and Harry Storin. The family later moved to Springfield, Mass. where he graduated from Cathedral High School before attending Rhode Island School of Design in Providence. An accomplished artist, he began his advertising career in Hartford, Conn., later moving to New York City where he designed campaigns for Bourjois Perfume. He later served as an advertising manager for Ballantine Ale before being recruited by Schlitz Brewing Co. and moving to Milwaukee in 1964, eventually settling in Whitefish Bay. Later in his career he formed his own marketing promotions company. Over the years, given his success and his sophisticated manner, his family dubbed him "The Legend." He never complained about the title. Paul leaves three children: Joanne Storin of Boston, and Mark Storin and Alicia Storin, both of Milwaukee. A son Peter died in 2009. He also leaves a grandson, Sean Couillard of Carver, Minn. He is survived by a sister, Joan Thurston, of Virginia Beach, Va., and a brother, Matthew Storin of Camden, Maine. The Legend was delighted to celebrate his 88th birthday with his brother, sister, three surviving children and extended family in attendance last November. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
