Obituary

Pollworth, Patsy R. (nee Krull) Thursday, March 10, 2011, age 75 years. Beloved wife of Larry Pollworth and beloved mother of Pamela M. Pollworth and Lorna B. Pollworth, loved grandmother to Marjorie E. Mc Naughton and Hillary Lauerman. Beloved sister of Robert Lee Krull. Also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Pat was lifelong Milwaukee resident. She loved the city and its people. Her passion about the history, architecture and culture of Milwaukee was shared with anyone who was interested. Over the years Pat designed and presented hundreds of programs and tours to local, national and international groups. Pat graduated from Bay View High School in 1953 and was one of the first graduating classes at UWM in 1958. Her first job was with Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company, which provided a job for her until she was able to complete her Bachelor of Science Degree. Pat had a love of cultures due to the many opportunities that were provided to her in her youth and had a broad view of world because of the YWCA to world cultures and opportunities and to be exposed to the people from many counties and cultures and world religions. She met with Martin Luther King Jr. while attending Fisk University in Tennessee. Her precious and rare friendships that were forged and that endured for over sixty years have resulted in extra ordinary personal enrichment not only for Pat, but for her family and the family of her two dearest friends Donna Runge and Dede Dixon. She enjoyed a personal sharing of cultures with family and friends that enriched all of their lives and that of others. Her work history ranged from a mail clerk at Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company to selling wholesale plumbing supplies to teaching gourmet cooking classes. Her extensive resume included working for the Girl Scouts for over twenty years and serving in many capacities. Pat's dream, from the time she was a teenager, was to work for the YWCA and was hired as the Older Adult Coordinator which gave her the chance to serve older adults and bring together seniors of diverse backgrounds and they together learned the commonalities in their lives that connected them rather than the differences that they viewed as separating them. Through music and food that, transcended differences, new friendships were forged and understanding of cultures emerged. Great joy and happiness was a result of these numerous events and experiences. Pat traveled extensively throughout the United States both personally and professionally. She also had the opportunity to visit Europe, Canada, Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean. Pat authored or co-authored six books; most were related to the city of Milwaukee and written with children in mind. The names of the titles were "Don't Stop me now I am on a roll", "Street Names Street Games", and "Milwaukee City Safari." A Celebration of Pat's life will take place at the Funeral Home on Sunday, March 13, 2011, 1-4 PM. "Pat's loving presence will be missed by all but will always be in our hearts" PRASSER-KLECZKA BAY VIEW CHAPEL 3275 So. Howell Avenue 414-483-2322
