Dad was a Dad that put an 18 ft. swimming pool in our backyard for his children and the neighborhood children to swim in. Dad was the Dad that loved to embarrass his children as he hung out a window at their school as he washed the windows. Dad was the dad that took his sons on a fishing trip to Canada. Dad was the dad that put rope going up a hill at South Shore Park during the winter so everyone could use it to get back up the hill. Dad was a true Irishman. He loved his PBR and also a longtime volunteer at Irish Fest along with our Mom, Joan.
Dad was a member of the Humbolt Park 4th of July Association with Mom. He was a window washer for Milwaukee Public Schools until retirement.
A special thank you goes to his caregivers, his daughter, Bridget who no one of us can thank enough. She went above and beyond to help him get through his pain and made his life happy until the end, playing Irish music, "Oh Danny Boy" and reading him Irish prayers. Also, a special thank you to his daughter in law, Sandy Davis for the job she did handling his finances, paper work and making sure he had spending money to take his kids out to lunch and buy a 6 pack of PBR. We all had our jobs but Bridget and Sandy made Dad's life easier and our lives easier.
Our whole family needs to be acknowledged for the role they played in taking care of our awesome dad. He was a devoted husband, dad and grandfather. He was so proud of all of us.
Love you Dad!
