Obituary

We reach with our hands and hearts to heaven as we celebrate the life of Patricia Prendergast (nee Quinlan) of Oak Creek, Wisconsin. Pat passed away in the comfort of her home with beloved family and caregivers on August 10, 2022 in the early morning hours at the age of 83. Pat was a loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Pat was born in Chicago, Illinois on January 27, 1939. Pat was the third of nine children born to Charlotte (nee Altieri) and William Quinlan. Pat was a certified and accomplished occupational and massage (Reiki) therapist, and participated in many women's retreats with the members of St. James Parish of Franklin. She sang with her husband in the St. James choir for many years. Pat was a member of Big and Loud, a group designed to encourage the visibility and voices of those suffering with Parkinson's disease. Pat was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, John Prendergast Sr. They were seldom apart, doing good works for anyone in need. Pat is now reunited in Heaven with her husband, John Sr. and her siblings William, Winifred, Mary, and Chuck. Pat is survived by her loving siblings, Jim (Mary Kay), Charlotte "Dolly", Jackie, Kathleen (John), as well as her beloved children, John Prendergast Jr. (Cindy), Katherine Vassar (Mike), Brian (Kimberly), Daniel (Kelli), and Mary Altieri. Pat is further survived by and was the proud grandmother of Andy (Cassie), Kyle Koszuta, Olivia (Pete), Erik (Celeste), Ben (Caitlin), Riley Vannettie, Sam, Ben (Kassie) and Jacob (Kayla) Lindberg, Molly, Brynn, Jonah, and Rees. She is also survived by her beloved great-grandchildren Harper, Willow, Colton, and Anela. Pat was a kind-hearted, beautiful, and generous woman who made friends with everyone who came to know her. She was insightful, creative, offered patient listening, and was admired for her ability to see and honor the qualities of everyone. She complimented others, recognized beauty in the people and places she saw, and was grateful for the love that she would see and feel each day. She was a powerful woman who did not allow her disease to stop her from dreaming and doing. Pat has earned her wings as one of God's angels through her goodness and compassion. A memorial gathering will be held in her honor at the Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Vigil service at 7:00 PM.
