Obituary

Patricia ('Pat') Margaret Reilly Found peace on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at the age of 99. Pat touched many through her love and knowledge of music and her devotion to family, friends, and felines. Pat was dynamic, always smartly dressed, and not hesitant to tell you what she thought. Pat liked to have fun, to joke, to travel, to socialize. She was a lifelong learner. She shared her passions with her nephews and nieces, giving them support and inspiration. Born and raised in Milwaukee Pat graduated from Shorewood High School in 1938 and went on to get a degree in music at Wisconsin State College. Pat's passion for music and education led her to Columbia University for a Masters degree and the University of Indiana, Bloomington for a Doctorate in Music Education. Pat taught music to generations of students. She taught music at the primary, secondary levels in Ripon, Two Rivers, and New Berlin where she taught for 20 years. Pat also taught at multiple colleges across the Midwest. Pat earned a patent for the Auto-Noter, a tool to help students understand musical notation. Pat always had cats in her life.
